Long-term care referrals registry
The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) requires agents and other professionals who are compensated for providing long-term care referrals to register with DHS every two years. Referral agents must meet certain disclosure requirements, including providing consumers with information about their compensation practices, and whether they share a consumer’s personal information. Overview
Placement and Referral Agents:
- Must be registered by DHS
- Must submit and pass a Criminal Background check
- Carry General liability insurance
- Are mandatory reporters
- Must personally pre-view any facility they refer
- Must provide a full disclosure statement to consumers
